Yesterday, we looked at the current unemployment rate for US states. But, the current rate only tells us so much. What’s arguably more interesting is the change in unemployment rate across the country since a year ago:
There are some big losers that are still in bad shape since COVID hit:
And, much to my surprise, there are some states that have a lower unemployment rate than a year ago:
It’s always important to keep in mind that things (good or bad) don’t happen uniformly. Further, when it comes to recoveries, this is just one example of how things can also turn out very differently for those affected.
