Down and down

The Empire State Manufacturing Index is a monthly survey of manufacturers in New York State conducted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. What they have to say recently…well…it’s not been a positive trend:

Essentially, survey respondents are telling the Fed that general business conditions are deteriorating. While this doesn’t mean anything definitive to solve the raging debate of whether or not we are in a recession, it does tell us that things are moving in the wrong direction for the economy. Add it to the list of concerns!
