Bonds and small caps won the week

It wasn’t a great week for markets:

However, small-cap stocks were a bright spot:

While energy and real estate did well, their performance wasn’t enough to lift the index as a whole when other more material sectors were down:

Overall, the results of the week weren’t surprising against the backdrop of an economic recovery that has looked a little shaky recently. Hopefully this is all just a temporary speed bump!
