Some Quick Thoughts
Per yesterday's discussion thread
First off, thanks to everyone who commented in yesterday’s discussion thread (and to others who chatted me up outside the thread). I got some really helpful ideas from that!
One thing I’ve been trying to figure out is how to provide more regular information that readers find useful while also keeping the spontaneity of the newsletter. My current brainstormed solution looks like this:
Have the regular newsletter that you are used to in the first section (i.e., things I find interesting or am just curious about and researching, aka free form)
Have a second add-on section that follows some kind of regular schedule
Obviously, you know what the first part already is just by reading my daily random thoughts. So, what do I have in mind right now for the second thing? Well, it would be sort of like themes depending on the day of the week. Based on my recent thinking and bolstered by yesterday’s ideas, it might be something like:
Market Performance Monday
Two Sides Tuesday
Watchlist Wednesday
Theoretical Thursday
Forecast Friday
Sector Saturday
Single-stock Sunday
With this, on Monday’s you can expect my market update charts and commentary (i.e., YTD performance, weekly performance). Tuesday I will try to take some topic and consider the pros and cons of a given situation or what might happen depending on two outcomes (bullish or bearish). Wednesday I can share a list of stocks I have been watching and like. Thursday would be me just exploring some random idea I’ve been researching and sharing the results. Friday is where I can show updated forecasted numbers for things like GDP, inflation, and so on. Saturday I could do a deep dive on a certain sector of the market. And, finally, on Sundays I would highlight a single stock for a deep dive.
I don’t know when or how I will implement this quite yet. Some ideas are already kind of there and some are harder to do but, either way, you should expect to see a little bit more structure around these topics and you can regularly expect to see updates on them.
Anyways, hope that sounds helpful and if you have any other ideas of things you might like to see please let me know!
