Checking in on housing markets around the country
The latest data for the U.S. housing market came in a few days ago, with the most recent numbers reflecting prices as of September. (If you are interested in comparison with August, please see the last post on home prices from a month ago.)
Home prices remain elevated, obviously:
However, we continue to see price moderation back toward longer-term trends:

Looking at that table in chart format, we can get a better sense of the price-change discrepancy amongst each location:
Overall, nothing too unexpected but the continued deceleration in home price increases is a welcome sign that things are continuing to get back to pre-pandemic levels.
