It’s not quite the end of the year, so we can’t say for sure what the final 2020 ranking of stocks by market capitalization is going to be. But, the following ten stocks are likely to end the year as the largest components of the S&P 500:
#. Company Name (Ticker) - Market Capitalization (in Billions $USD)
Apple Inc. (AAPL) - 2,244
Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) - 1,684
Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) - 1,592
Alphabet Inc. (Class C) (GOOG) - 1,175
Facebook, Inc. (FB) - 762
Tesla, Inc. (TSLA) - 627
Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B) - 531
Visa Inc. (V) - 488
Walmart (WMT) - 406
Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) - 401
As the fourth tracking portfolio for 2020, I’ll be investing $100 in each of these ten companies. That way, we can see if the stocks that I’m actively investing in do any better than just picking the ten biggest stocks available in the S&P 500. It’ll also be neat to watch the performance of these ten large companies versus the broader index!
