More Wealth Inequality
Looking into other assets
Yesterday, we looked at the asset-side of wealth inequality. I wrote a bit there so I won’t repeat myself here but in another post on wealth components, we looked at the less material (but still important) items that comprise wealth. So, let’s do that in the same format for wealth inequality, starting with the overall amount for other assets:
Other assets can be broken out further into consumer durables:
Checkable deposits and currency (basically cash):
Money Market Funds (pretty much cash as well):
And, US Government Securities and Municipal Securities:
There will always be some random leftover stuff too, in other other:
What we see here is a bit more even ownership for the first three buckets. Don’t forget though, that the buckets themselves are not equal. In the next post, we will adjust for that component as well.
