Well, it certainly beats seeing a big loss!
I definitely didn’t expect this one. But, I guess I could also say that I didn’t expect the last three crazy single-day moves either! (See “WHAT”, “WHAT (part 2)”, and “Welcome to History (aka WHAT (part 3))”). Pretty shocking to be doing the fourth installment in this series but historic times call for historic amounts of repetitive chart-making and repetitive article titles.
I’m not really sure what to say here that I haven’t said in my previous posts. Normally, I wouldn’t make a post on something if I didn’t have anything to say. But when something happens in the markets that hasn’t happened since 1933 then it’s probably worth noting.
I wonder what comes next after this? Have we really seen the bottom? It would be surprising to me if we end up looking back and saying “that was it!” in terms of market losses due to the coronavirus.
I suppose we just have to wait and see.
